Brief History

 

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4,1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The founders, known as the "Jewels" of the Fraternity are Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Knickle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. Alpha Phi Alpha was the first intercolegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American males.

My connection

I crossed into Alpha on July 6,1979 at 10:55pm, Xi Chapter, Wilberforce University. My line was" The Bold line of 79". My line name was "Mighty Rock Bodacious". After I crossed, I was known as Big Brother "Shogun".
